A shadow on the wall,
i move—
a moment after the Creator,
mimicking,
but black.
The in-between—
the Son
and me.
A sin
that puzzles,
pieces me apart.
And so, I remain—
a shadow.

Your site is very unique. Kist an fyi… You might want to check out using free “Grammarly” to help you when you write and add new posts. 🙂 https://app.grammarly.com/
It sure helps me writer better. 🤔😀
Hi Diane Olsen,
Thank you for visiting my site and for your constructive feedback. I appreciate your suggestion regarding the use of Grammarly. In my post “In the Between,” the lowercase “i” is intentionally styled that way to shift the focus from myself and instead direct it to the Creator (God), with the capitalized “C” signifying His importance. I also play with the imagery of light, referencing John 8:12 (Jesus, His Son and word play with Sun which can cast a shadow), and exploring themes of sin, struggle, and redemption.
I write as a passion during my breaks from work as a carpenter and general contractor, and I acknowledge that I sometimes overlook typos and errors—something I’ve battled with since my days in graduate school. Your feedback is valuable, and I am committed to continually improving my writing.
Thank you again for your insights.
Blessings,
Wilhelm
