“Like dewdrops that sparkle in summer’s warm rays
On gossamer wings of a midsummer’s day,
I tickled sweet Life, and her laughter took flight,
Like wind-scattered petals that dance and sway,
My heart bloomed crimson in morning’s soft light.
But fortune’s wheel turned, and she drifted away,
Her eyes became storms on a wind-ravaged sea.
Through winter I wandered, lost in dismay,
Chasing echoes of what used to be.
We danced on Time’s stage, two leaves in the wind,
Our steps unrehearsed, our hearts intertwined.
Now memories shimmer through curtains of haze,
Like dewdrops that sparkle in summer’s warm rays.
With trembling hands, I held my bouquet,
Each rose dropping petals like tears in the rain.
I whispered my plea for her heart to stay,
But love’s perfume scattered, leaving only pain.
Ten thousand tides later, beneath autumn’s arch,
I glimpsed her again, her joy pure and free,
As she waltzed with another in love’s ageless march,
Her radiance lighting the path I can’t see.
