*Just having a little of a haiku kind-a of fun with an earlier write

Amber glint captured—
a brunette leans at the bar,
eyes caught by the flame
inside a Macallan’s heart—
aged swagger, quiet fire.

No ice, no pretense—
she orders him straight and bare.
Glass heavy with want,
both hands trace the cold, round rim,
breath brushing oak, spice, leather.

First sip—slow lover—
bold yet yielding on her tongue,
heat unfurls in waves,
rich and thick as buttered smoke,
a secret pressed to her chest.

Again she tilts him—
second taste, another fall—
rogue drop at her lip,
tongue reclaims the wayward flame,
smile half-mischief, half-prayer.

Empty glass, soft clink—
she burns with the afterglow.
Lucky watches close—
her voice, low velvet whisper:
“Same place, same time, tomorrow?”

*long haiku sequence (also called a chōka style or extended haiku chain)

  2. Lucky is a character in my mind now, from this piece and your last. Makes me want to go to the bar and order what she’s having. 🤷🏻‍♀️😏 Never drank liquor but you make it sound like it’s somehow delicious in some mysterious way. Bravo W🙏🏻❤️‍🔥

    1. LOL. It’s not for everyone that’s for sure. I use to imbibe more often, so have a little more history to draw upon…( In a good way;-). As always thanks for your comments, and taking the time.

  3. Interesting choice of name for the character too! Cheers, Wilhelm- the form, the music, the tasteful innuendo- nailed it.
